does anyone ever read this????????

Just thought I would post, but was wondering if anyone ever reads this? Anyway, fall is here and it's definitly my favorite time of the year. I love the cool crisp air, the smell of sage brush in bloom, and all the beautiful colors of fall. Above is a picture of the kids at Pine Valley. We went camping a few weeks ago and the kids had a great time. Blakelee and I had a fun time decorating the house for fall. With the way things are going in the world right now, I'm just really thankful for my family. No amount of money or space can beat the memories I've had with my kids and husband. I love them all so much

Harvest Time

It's been a long time since I've checked out the blog. We've been really busy this summer. Baseball just got over and we start school next week. We are just starting to get vegetables out of our garden. I really enjoy spending time outsied, like I tell RJ "I would rather spend 6 hrs outside doing yard work that 15 min doing the dishes. I think we'll have corn ready by Sunday (Yea). I'll try to keep up on my blogging. Allison Bigler (friend from Reno) got me to start my own blog. Come check it out http://rjdee.blogspot.com

Love each of You

I wish that we would each keep up on this blog as it is so nice to hear from each of you. I am also taking to myself. Hope that each of you enjoyed the 24th! Can you believe that it is almost Aug. Mike Rogers B-Day July 30th
Mom & Dad's 39th anniversary Aug. 2
Cassie's B-Day Aug. 4th
Treason's B-Day Aug. 18th
Deidre & R.J.'s Anniversary Aug. 12th
Cooper's 9th B-Day Aug. 24th

We need one great big get-together to celebrate!

Cooper and Aaron entered a Little Britches Rodeo in Elko this past weekend. Cooper won all around and won a saddle and some gift certificates. Way to Go Cooper!!!!!! Aaron won 3rd place. I'm so glad that he didn't ride the bull, though!!!!!!!

We are all so anxiously awaiting the arrival of little Mead Erin. Nikki I hope that you will
post pictures for everyone.

Dad did it again. His garden is producing as I picked an ice-cream bucket of beans this morning and 3 summer squash. Guess what we are having for dinner!

Each of you please take care. We love you so much. Times are tough and getting tougher but with faith and prayers and doing whats right we can get through them. Dad and I have had our prayers answered so many times.

The Mike Petree family recently spoke in Sacrament meeting before leaving our valley for further education in OK. Their talks touched my heart and I felt a witness that they were true and inspired. In essence they said, "In our families we need to prioritize our main goal/s. Then spend our time & energy in reaching that goal. With what time is left over then we can diversify to other activities. How important it is to do 1st what we need to do to reach that main goal rather than spend our time in other activities 1st and then what time and energy is left over we put it towards our main goal."

Ponder this statement and see where you are at. I think that Dad & I approached our goal with what time and energy we had left over and I regret this deeply.

I didn't mean to preach but wanted to share this insight with you.
Take care. We love you. Mom

Who is reading the blog?

HI Everyone,

I am just checking to see who reads this blog anymore. Since there have been no additions since Cassie and Neil's trip to Hawaii, I am not sure anyone does.
Cassie's family has been busy with Hailey's graduation and birthday, Justin's Seminary graduation
that he gave a talk that was extremely well done as well as his Eagle Award which was also very nice.
Nikki's baby shower was so fun and she received a lot of nice and fun gifts. She and Mike went the following day and bought a crib with the gift cards. We are all looking forward to this new addition to our family.
Next week is our big trip and it is going to be fun. We can't wait to see Anna, Kent, Cooper and Mr. Aaron. Hope everyone will be there at least part of the time.
I'm just getting over a bout struggling to breathe. I had to go to the Dr. this time. I am on the mend though.

Take care. Love each of you. Mom

Vacation !!

Hola,

Well we are back from our Cruise.. It was Fantastic. We all had a great time. The weather was good most of the time. It all started out a little shaky (litterally) I threw up everywhere on the plane ride down to L.A. (in my defense even the flight crew said it was the worst turbulance they had seen on that flight). And it was raining pretty good in L.A. when we arrived but after that it was pretty smooth sailing.

Our first stop was in Cabo San Lucas, Maddy and I went swimming with the dolphins. It was So cool and well worth the price. We got pulled around the pool by the our dolphin named Monet. and got lots of hands on time with it. I would definately recommend it to anyone.. Super Cool!! then Alexis and Mike went Parasailing.. I was surprised I thought for sure she would chicken out. But they Both loved it.

In Mazatlan we went shopping and went to the beach where the girls waded in the waves and picked up sea shells while Mike got a tan and I said "no thank you" to what seemed like a million peddlers.. (word of advise: Don't look at the stuff they are selling or make eye contact with them unless you really want to buy.. cause once you do all of them try to sell you somthing..) we had lunch at a mexican dive but it was delicious.. I love Mexico food!!

In Puerta Vallarta we went with J&A's recomendation and did a canopy tour (zip lines through the jungle). It was super fun.. and all of us Loved it. We have a DVD of us doing it.. and Vallarta is beautiful. I want to go back.

The day after we got back Alexis starred in her class play as Laura Ingles. She did so well and we could even hear her on the back row (amazing!!).
So we are back to the grind. I am closing on a house this week hopefully and we will have lots of projects once we have the keys. Mike is ready.

Hope your all doing well.

Love ya
Em

Hello out there

Hey, were not using this blog! Something has got to be going on in your lives that you want to share. I love to check the blog to see if anyone has posted anything.

Justin went to the prom about 3 weeks ago, Here are some pictures. For his date they went snowboarding up at Brianhead they next day his date was sick throwing up with a migraine. She didnt think that she would be able to go. Justin was so disapointed, not to mention that he rented a tux, bought a corsage, etc.... So I was trying to think of someone he could take if his date couldnt make it. I told him I would go with him (yuck! Your MOM!) and I suggested Hailey, He didnt like that idea either. Luckily though his date started feeling better about an hour and a half before it was time to go. So everything worked out. They went to Olive Garden for dinner.

Hailey just lost her second tooth! She is also doing gymnastics 2 times a week and loves it. It is a perfect activity for a never ending full of energy motion machine. She also learned a new expression and is always asking me if "I need a shot of ambition" (I wish they had one!)

Brandon went cougar hunting last weekend and loved it! They had hunting dogs with them that treed a few cougars but after a few minutes they would jump out of the trees and run. So he didnt get to see one. They did see alot of tracks though.

Neil and I are just glad that we dont have a parade house this year. For the first time in 3 years we have been able to enjoy a January. We do have a parade house on the books for next year though. But, it is already sold! YEAH! (And we have to draw out. So maybe)

I know that our weather is not as cold as some of yours, but we are ready for winter to be over! BRING ON THE HEAT! I love it when it is 100 degrees outside!!!!!!

Hope everyone is doing good. We love you and would love to hear from you.

Happy New Year

Dear Family,

We arrived home early, early this morning from our trip to Idaho. We had a delightful time and pretty good weather although COLD. It was so fun to see Anna, Kent and boys. We went to a JAZZ game last night which was fun. Brandon we wish you would have went with us as Grandpa had to be the bucking horse and bull for the rides that the boys wanted. The boys were pleased with their gifts and wanted to know if Kaiden and Mattie were also. Cooper couldn't say enough about his knife and the boys were always punching at Aaron's punching bag.

The temple is so beautiful and stands out a very long ways. The Filer Ward that we attended gave a 5th Sunday Lesson to the RS & Priesthood about preparing for the temple. The people are so excited about it's opening although they don't know when it will be opened. A Stake Center is being built in the same area and it is not ready.

Anna & Kent are doing GREAT! They would enjoy a visit if you can ever make it up there. Spring and Summer would be best though as there would be lots more to do.

Hope this finds everyone well and HAPPY. We love you. Mom & Dad
